Kathy Bowling started Smooth Transitions of Greater Akron, during the time away from her Civil Engineering career. While raising her sons and dealing with some of their special needs, Kathy felt called to a service-based profession.
After watching her grandparents transition from their second story family home, to a smaller apartment, and then into an independent/assisted living facility, Kathy realized how challenging these moves can be on even the closest of families. After much research into the senior relocation industry, she began her training with Barbara Morris, one of the founding members of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM). It was at this point Smooth Transitions of Greater Akron began.
With Kathy’s engineering mind, she is easily able to develop, organize and implement a schedule and master move plan to complete a job efficiently and effectively. Her organizational skills are especially helpful in the sorting and downsizing process. Having a son with special needs has given her the compassion, patience, and the skills to problem solve and handle challenging situations with grace and ease.
